Summary

This funding stream is designed to strengthen the entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem in Missouri by supporting organizations that build capacity for high-tech commercialization and enterprise growth. It is available to eligible organizations (such as nonprofits, academic institutions, or other entities) operating within Missouri that are aligned with MTC’s strategy to nurture technological innovation and startup culture.

Applicants may apply under one of two categories: Project Support, which is earmarked for a defined purpose or program; or Operations Support, which helps with broader organizational needs and may fund more than one project or ongoing functions. For Project Support, the funds must be used for the specific scope outlined in the application; for Operations Support, there is more flexibility to support the applicant’s mission broadly.

The grant duration may be one, two or three years. The maximum award amounts are capped based on term length: up to $150,000 for a one-year award; up to $325,000 for a two-year award; and up to $500,000 for a three-year award. The application window opens in mid-September and closes in late October. The grant period begins the following April.

This opportunity is best suited for organizations already active in Missouri’s innovation/entrepreneur ecosystem, and seeking funding to scale programs, build infrastructure, or enhance support systems for startups/commercialization.
