Summary
Grants for Minnesota livestock farmers and ranchers to improve, modernize, or expand infrastructure and equipment used in their livestock operations. The program is designed to encourage long-term agricultural development and help producers make practical investments that improve livestock production facilities and related operations. Eligible projects may include livestock buildings and facilities, pasture improvements such as fencing, lanes, and watering systems, and equipment used for livestock housing, feeding, confinement, or waste management. Funding is provided on a reimbursement basis and does not cover livestock purchases, tractors, general-purpose buildings, feed, cropland, or debt refinancing. Eligible applicants generally must be Minnesota residents, authorized farm businesses, or Tribal governments and must operate a livestock operation in Minnesota. Applicants must also sell, or normally sell, at least $1,000 in livestock products annually. Awards range from $400 to $25,000.
