Summary

A community-focused grant opportunity provides financial support to nonprofit organizations and certain public entities working to strengthen local communities across parts of the southern United States. Funding is generally available within specific service regions that include areas of Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas, particularly where community programs directly benefit local residents. Eligible applicants typically include nonprofit organizations with recognized tax-exempt status, as well as schools, hospitals, government entities, and similar public service organizations. Grants are not available to individuals or for-profit businesses.

Grant funding varies depending on the program and project scope. Smaller community grants may provide up to $1,000 to support localized initiatives, while larger awards can range from several thousand dollars to approximately $160,000 for broader community programs. In some cases, regional economic development initiatives may distribute combined funding pools totaling tens of thousands of dollars to support community planning and development efforts.

Funds are intended to support initiatives that improve community well-being and long-term economic vitality. Supported activities may include education and literacy programs, workforce and economic development initiatives, environmental or energy-related projects, arts and cultural programs, and community improvement efforts. Preference is often given to projects that demonstrate measurable benefits for local residents and help strengthen community infrastructure, opportunity, and quality of life within eligible service areas.
