Summary

Grant funding opportunities are available to support projects that enhance outdoor recreation, habitat conservation, and natural resource stewardship in Kansas. Eligible applicants may include nonprofit organizations, local governments, community groups, educational institutions, wildlife clubs, and individual landowners engaged in activities that improve public access to outdoor spaces, protect fish and wildlife habitat, or promote safe and sustainable recreation.

Grants can vary in size, from smaller awards for community trail development and outdoor education initiatives to larger cost-share funding for habitat restoration, land acquisition for public access, boating access improvements, and wildlife management efforts. Funding is intended to support practical projects such as developing and maintaining trails, improving public boating and fishing access, restoring native prairie and wetlands, conducting environmental education programs, and implementing conservation practices that benefit ecosystems and recreational opportunities.

These grants aim to strengthen conservation outcomes, expand access, foster partnerships, and enhance the long-term health of natural resources and outdoor experiences throughout Kansas.
