Grants to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions
GrantID: 74130
Grant Funding Amount Low: $7,500
Deadline: July 11, 2025
Grant Amount High: $750,000
Summary
This grant provides funding of up to $75,000 to support early-stage clean technology research and development efforts. It's aimed at organizations within one specific mid‑Atlantic state, particularly those focused on reducing or capturing greenhouse gases or other pollutants through innovative solutions. The program is most suitable for small entities—those with no more than 50 full‑time employees and annual revenue under $5 million in the previous year.
Eligible applicants include for‑profit startups, small businesses, and other local business entities, all required to be legally registered and in good standing within the state. Nonprofit organizations and individual entrepreneurs are generally not the primary targets; the emphasis is on startups actively working on commercializable clean‑tech innovations. Projects should be in the mid‑development stage—typically transitioning from initial research toward prototype or demonstration readiness.
Funds may be applied toward a variety of purposes, such as paying for experimentation, prototyping, pilot demonstrations, engineering work, materials, and testing—anything that accelerates the journey from lab discovery to market‑ready clean technology. The aim is to help applicants build proof of concept, attract investor interest, and move toward commercialization.
Applications are open to ventures across a spectrum of clean‑tech sectors, including advanced materials, energy storage, efficient energy systems, clean power generation, green building tech, sustainable transportation, waste processing, water conservation, and agriculturally relevant technologies. The initiative is structured to award multiple winners, with total funding allocated in the mid six‑figure range.
This round focuses exclusively on entities based in New Jersey and aims to support around ten to a dozen awardees. There is a firm application deadline in mid‑year, and there’s no requirement for matching funds. In summary, this grant offers targeted seed‑stage support for young, locally rooted clean‑tech innovators working to develop real‑world solutions with environmental impact.
