Grant Amount High: $75,000
Summary
This program provides funding and support for cultural work throughout King County, Washington. It’s intended for artists, artist groups, heritage and preservation organizations, nonprofit arts and culture entities, and public art initiatives that enrich community life and foster cultural access.
Eligible applicants are those based in King County—this includes individuals (artists), nonprofit organizations, community groups, or projects related to heritage, arts, preservation, public art, and occasionally culture-/technology-hybrid work. Applicants are expected to propose work that benefits the public, engages community, or preserves local history or public spaces.
The grant funds are meant to underwrite creative projects, support preservation of historic places, assist with public art, and help organizations provide access to cultural experiences. These may be used for things like project development, creative production, educational and community programming, heritage outreach, or preserving structures or artifacts that reflect regional heritage
.
Funding is awarded through multiple grant rounds each year. The amounts vary with each opportunity and depend on the scale, type, and scope of the work proposed. Proposals are evaluated for artistic merit, cultural relevance, community impact, alignment with regional cultural priorities, and feasibility.
The aim is to ensure that the region’s cultural vibrancy is supported: by helping artists and nonprofit organizations to create, by preserving heritage, by enhancing public spaces, and by making cultural opportunities more accessible to all residents of King County.
