Summary

Eligible applicants include individuals aged 18 and older who have experience implementing education strategies for learners of any age. Academic degrees are not required. The grant is open to applicants worldwide, provided they are not current staff members of the National Geographic Society.
The funding supports projects that advance knowledge about how to spark curiosity and inspire learners to care for and protect the world. Proposals may include pilot projects of new learning solutions or scaling of proven solutions to new geographies or populations. Research proposals measuring the effectiveness of educational innovations are also encouraged.
Competitive proposals should describe the future being planned toward, the community of learners targeted, and the specific learning solutions to be implemented. Applicants are encouraged to present novel, interdisciplinary approaches that hold potential for significant scale and impact, while also highlighting how these projects can bridge political, cultural, and geographic boundaries.
