Summary
Grants for nonprofit organizations are eligible for funding to address important local needs and strengthen community well-being. Current funding priorities include housing stability and basic needs, mental health and social connection, and nonprofit capacity building. Support may help organizations prevent or respond to homelessness, improve access to food and essential services, strengthen emotional well-being, reduce isolation, foster belonging, or develop stronger organizational systems. Capacity-building activities may include strategic planning, governance, staff and volunteer development, technology improvements, and other efforts that improve long-term sustainability. Eligible applicants generally include registered Canadian charities, nonprofit societies, First Nations, municipalities, and other qualifying public organizations. Activities must take place in the Comox Valley or directly benefit local residents. Single-year grants can provide up to $20,000, while the current three-year option can provide up to $30,000 per year for qualifying initiatives.
