Summary
Educational awards recognize graduating seniors who have overcome serious hardship while maintaining commitment to learning, character, and service. Support strengthens access to college, trade school, and other postsecondary paths, giving resilient young people resources to pursue future goals. The program celebrates perseverance, courage, academic achievement, and positive contributions to others.
Eligible recipients are seniors attending selected public high schools in Connecticut, Vermont, and northern New York who plan to continue education after graduation. Applicants show academic performance, although individual circumstances receive consideration. Selection centers on students who have confronted substantial adversity, including health challenges, financial hardship, unstable home situations, disability, loss, or other significant barriers, while continuing toward success. Guidance counselors support the application process, and finalists participate in review. Priority goes to students whose accomplishments reflect grit, compassion, responsibility, and hope. Recipients serve as examples of determination for classmates, families, and communities while moving forward with education and development.
