Summary
Funding for innovative cancer research. Early-career cancer researchers at nonprofit research institutions across the United States may be eligible for substantial support to pursue innovative, high-risk research that could lead to important advances in understanding, diagnosing, preventing, or treating cancer. The opportunity is designed for investigators developing bold approaches that may be difficult to fund through traditional research programs. Projects may involve basic cancer biology, new technologies, or other scientifically rigorous approaches addressing significant gaps or unmet needs in the field. Eligible applicants must hold an MD, PhD, MD-PhD, or equivalent degree and have between two and six years of experience running an independent laboratory. Applicants must hold an appropriate faculty or independent research position at a U.S. nonprofit research institution. Selected researchers can receive $750,000 over three years, or $250,000 annually, along with opportunities for scientific collaboration, industry connections, networking, and research presentations.
