Nonprofit Grant to Support Health, Education and Welfare of Youth
GrantID: 8830
Grant Funding Amount Low: $1,500
Deadline: Ongoing
Grant Amount High: $20,000
Summary
This grant opportunity is designed to support nonprofit organizations in Northern California. Eligible applicants are 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations; individual requests, for‑profit businesses and special‑event underwriting generally are not eligible. The funding focuses primarily on programs that work to improve the health, education and welfare of children and youth in that region.
Grant requests may range from modest awards (a few hundred dollars) up to approximately $10,000 in typical circumstances; in rare cases a larger award might be considered for a program with major community impact. Applicants may submit at most two grant requests within a rolling three‑year period. Requests for capital campaigns, endowments, special‑event sponsorships, or the training of individuals are excluded.
Applications are accepted on a continuous basis with decision cycles twice per year. The process calls for a summary paragraph describing the request and the amount needed, organizational information (mission description, staff/board roster, recent financials, IRS determination letter), and a clear project or program budget including other sources of funding. The aim is to fund program‑specific work that aligns with the foundation’s mission, rather than general operating reserves or fundraising drives.
The benefits of this grant include access to locally‑focused philanthropic support, an opportunity to strengthen youth‑oriented programs in health, education or welfare, and relatively streamlined application cycles.
If your nonprofit serves children or youth in the designated region and works in one of those mission‑aligned areas with a defined program and budget, this could be a strong opportunity to explore.
