About Me
I hold an Ed.D. and have served at the university level, in non-profits, K-12 school districts, as a tech. business entrepreneur, and a freelance grant writer. I bring a 95% success rate in guiding the process of refining project roadmaps, prioritizing funding initiatives, finding grants that fit strategic goals, and writing winning proposals. My specialties are grants to fund research in natural resource fields and in STEM education, for educational programming, and technical business R&D.
My Services
I bring three decades of experience raising millions in grant funding working in close collaboration with teams to develop proposals, ranging from refining boiler plates to fit various RFP targets to serving as the lead manager building up projects from scratch that fit both organizational strategies and particular RFP targets. My particular areas of expertise are in the STEM, formal and informal STEM education, sustainable agriculture, and social justice related grant proposals.
My Successes
A former academic, since 1996 I've written and won over $20M in federal grants (e.g., National Science Foundation, Department of Agriculture, Department of Education, and NASA), state grants and from private funders such as Meyer Memorial Trust, the Zidell Family Trust, and M.J. Charitable Trust. Most recently, I have managed proposal development and written six grants to raise $1.25M in SBIR Phase I and II grants from NSF and USDA , Business Oregon, and from family trusts over the past 3-years.
